A successful Entrepreneur

As Vinod Khosla says "An entrepreneur is someone who dares to dream the dreams and is foolish enough to try to make those dreams come true.", Entrepreneurship is something really challenging and exciting, trying out new things with new ideas, its just like exploring LIFE to the maximum extent. As we can see Internet as the fast growing media to communicate, a lot of new areas have opened for business and innovation, entrepreneurs who exclusively focus towards WEB are known as 'netrepreneurs', So the next best revolution maybe is on WEB.
I just saw this presentation and would like to share with you , it talks about the six points to be a successful Entrepreneur.

Meteor!

As usual every eve I sit in my balcony and read some novel or some good interesting book! but this time I noticed something special! It was twilight! and I just gazed at the sky ......... at first I thought it was some fireworks but I was amazed that it was there in the sky for more than 3 min...... within no time I realized its a "shooting star(meteor)" and just ran to my room to get my handy cam! I captured this video for about 2min just have a look at it!
I searched on net for more info about these meteors and this article says that most of the meteor showers occur in December till January and its also called "ursid meteors". Another article on meteor showers in December! It will be real fun to just watch it dropping down from sky!!!

"Vision" ---- Forethought of SUCCESS

Every time people ask me what do you want to do in LIFE? well the answer is always the same I am working towards my vision. Developing a vision in life is very important according to me, Its that strong vision which makes everything possible in this universe! I am not talking any success stories here..... I see a lot of people have a negative notion to think big! always they limit themselves to a particular boundary. Vision is everything in this world even at this present moment the technology you are using was started by visionaries, Its all got to do with positive attitude and Great thoughts then finally the destination i.e enlightenment will be waiting for us...... I hope maybe our education system should have been focussed in developing visionaries than slaves!
I found this slide which is totally catchy!!, do check out!

So then we attended another session on "GURUGEEKS" sounds geeky! Well Its a social networking site wherein all geeks meet! just like barcampbangalore but on the internet! and it is yet to be online! , the founder spoke about what is gurugeeks, How exactly it works, What is the need of somthing like Gurugeeks in a country like INDIA and some good stuff!

Next we went to room L22 where a session was going on User interface design! and then about yulop , Its a startup....... check out there website wherein you can search anything around bangalore and its pretty accurate!!.
Last but not the least! This was awesome and interesting , It was discussion about "Why should I start a startup", the crowd was mixture of business enthusiasts and Tech enthusiasts and it was real fun....... Impulsesoft CEO was there , she spoke about her experiences in building their first product which is a bluetooth device for an ipod!!(sounds kewl) , she also said" having conviction about the product that you have built is very important". I also saw someone from US , she says that its far better to start a startup in INDIA rather in US!!! finally the debate endedup and final thought was "start a startup having good reasons".

Geekology!!!

Oh man ........ Why am I sitting infront of my comp.......blogging, listening to rock music, coding, hacking, searching the internet,Why am I not hanging out with my friends?, Why shldnt I have a Girlfriend?!!!......... WHY................ WHY.......... Well even I dont know why???? Well I m sure that,I dont know the answer for this question but one thing is surreal! i.e he/she is a GEEK.

Who is a GEEK? well actually the terminology came from US military, GEEK stands for General Electrical and Engineering Knowledge. These are the people who know everything about technology. These Geeks are Cool dudes whose passion cannot be described in words!!

Have a look at the GEEK's lifestyle!

Speak Naturally

Every Human communicates through a language, The communication may be in different languages but the matter of the fact is ,Every human UNDERSTANDS the language and responds to it! Well What in case of a Computer/Machine?, Will a computer be able to respond accurately to Natural Language spoken by humans????

Natural Language Processing is a subgroup of Artificial Intelligence, It deals with automation and study of Natural Human Languages. While searching on google and I found one interesting link check it out http://start.csail.mit.edu/ , the future is right here the next best thing on earth will be Natural User Interface with NLP(Natural Language Processing).

Digital Reasoning plays an important role in NLP, Its about choosing the right one out of somany choices! See this video..........

For an insight into what exactly NLP is check out this slide.........

oh man Is it a DREAM??? No it isnt, ITS WIPRO CHAIRMAN AZIM PREMJI

I can never ever forget this in my life, this was my one of the most enchanting moments! I learned a lot!! Well the Ultra super thing is

" I MET WIPRO CHAIRMAN AZIM PREMJI".

Well folks it was Annual General Meeting on 18-07-2007 at 4:30pm in WIPRO campus, gate 7, cafeteria hall. My *** is a stakeholder in WIPRO, so I read the Annual report book sent by wipro for this year ,I always dreamt of companies and entrepreneurship, innovation. In the book it mentioned about the share holders meet and what is procedure to attend the meet, I saw the agenda, I was amazed that Mr. Azim premji was coming to the meet, So I wasnt a share holder, I was very sad but as I was going through the book and saw a page which was saying "Proxy share holders" WOAH!!! and then read the requirements, This was all at my exam time!!! that bullshit semester exam time!! Well now I went to basavanagudi Post office to get a revenue stamp, so i got it and did what was suppose to be done and HURRAY!!! the application form for proxy share holders was ready!!! , and then I asked Phaneendra my friend to join me, and we were suppose to goto Sarjapur Registered WIPRO office to submit the proxy form, there we went into the reception there a lady was sitting, so we asked her " maam this is the proxy form for the Annual General Meeting , so can you please take this and give us the acknowledgement" Well she was totally dumb , what one earth ......... she said" what? whom do you want to meet?? where is the apointment!! all the irrelevant questions to current situation!! and then she asked us to wait and we were sitting watching the reception there were boards like "Welcome to WIPRO feel yourself free till some one escorts you" you know stuff like that.......... then she called us and said please submit your form sir! oh ghosh at last we submitted.
Today morning we planned that if we get a chance to meet Azim Premji what are we going to say!! Phaneendra said "Dude I dont think they are going to allow you"........... well I am Always POSITIVE I challenged him!! and at last we were there at Wipro Campus at 4:30pm i.e today approx 4 hours ago, Security didnt allow my camera inside the campus ! damn that guy! then we both went in............ It was like " we were kids who came to watch some fun show!!!! Well actually it was like this for others who were watching us , I saw almost all of them were bald and above 40s!!! well they saw us like what i have said!!! and really It was our first experience with what business is. Azim Premji was taking polls from audience , he was asking questions , We actually didnt understand half of it!!! They gave some Poll sheet where we were suppose to vote for merging wipro health and wipro IT so we didnt knew nothing so we voted like we were executives!!! and then after the meeting , I was waiting for opportunity to shoot out my questions to him! I was waiting near the stage for him...........my heartbeat increased, i was hyper excited, But my questions what I had prepared earlier remained in my memory, I was eagerly waiting ......................Then Azim Premji just came walking down the stage, I made eye contact with him and as he was walking , I joined him and asked these questions to him , It was for 5 min from stage to the cafeteria we were just walking like friends.... hahaha !!! I wasn't dumb, I asked a few questions and the answers were just "GOLDEN".
  • What is the difference b/w a startup and a big successful company interms of goals and achievement??
  • Well a startup needs to work hard, I mean lots of hardwork, A big company need not do so much hardwork compared to a startup, After a company is big and successful ,interms of achievements and goals , I think there isnt any big difference bcos even big companies have goals, achievements.

  • Sir We have started a company known "Einstasoft" so would you tell us the secret sauce to be successful???
  • He grinned at me and said these GOLDEN WORDS FOR MY LIFE "Put your HEART and SOUL into whatever you do then success is all yours".At last he was about to goto cafeteria I TOLD him SIR REMEMBER OUR company's name its called "EINSTASOFT" we are into ROBOTICS and Artificial Intelligence................... We both had a handshake ! and he said "yes" , and he went into cafiteria, but I tried a lot to accompany him for few more questions, but the security didnt allow me inside!!!!

Super ---- "SIX"

Never ever under estimate a Human Spirit!, It was in 1994 when SIX students Graham Spencer, Joe Kraus, Mark Van Haren, Ryan McIntyre, Ben Lutch and Martin Reinfried all were Computer Science students from Stanford decided to start a company known as "Architext".
They started in a garage!, Well it was internet which was booming at that time, they were one of the successful companies on the internet.

Joe Kraus and Graham Spencer

In July 1994 International Data Group paid them $100,000 to develop an online service. They developed a Internet Portal known as "EXCITE". Soon lots of people used their service and it became a million dollar company. Some of the founders bought cool cellphones, BMW cars a lot of cool gadgets. After tasting success, one of the founders "Graham Spencer" a strict vegetarian and Joe Kraus started "JOTSPOT" a software company that offered enterprise social software (structured wiki). Search Engine Giant Google acquired this company in 2006!.

Watch "NERDS 2.0.1 -- A brief history of the internet", A good film about INTERNET and about how, where, when it was started and the first companies to mark their stamp on the internet ....a lot of cool stuff.

A journey from "Entrepreneurial LOVE to Heavenly abode of SUCCESS"

It was in 1970's when people use to say, "dont try to do things which you cannot! be simple, first settle in your life", Well I guess people who said this will repent forever! Folks It was 1981 when INFOSYS chief Mr. Narayan Murthy had a thought in his brain to start a company! He had already met his true love and success was waiting for them! I read a great article in geocities written by Smt.Sudha Murthy which is very inspiring!!
Here is a small excerpt from the article.....

"It was in Pune that I met Narayan Murty through my friend Prasanna who is now the Wipro chief, who was also training in Telco. Most of the books that Prasanna lent me had Murty's name on them, which meant that I had a preconceived image of the man. Contrary to expectation, Murty was shy, bespectacled and an introvert. When he invited us for dinner,............"

Narayan Murthy and Sudha Murthy with our Prime Minister.

"Look Above there is a lot going on"

We all know that Space Shuttle ATLANTIS came back from space! Hearing this news my mind remembers of Prof Claude Nicollier, ESA Astronaut, He served as mission specialist on four missions:

STS-46 in 1992
STS-61 in 1993
STS-75 in 1996
STS-103 in 1999.

I met him 2 years ago in IISC(Indian Institute of Science) bangalore. That one hour lecture on Space was thrillig experience for me in my life. He has spent 1000 hours in space, he has repaired Hubble space telescope! done a few space walks, He shared a lot of personal experiences with us which was enchanting moments of our lives! I wish i had a handycam or a simple camera at that time!

He was talking about weightlessness and how astronauts tackle it....."We used to drink floating watter bubbles...... and had more fun".

At the end of his talk he told all of us "Look above there is a lot going on". I went to him inperson and asked him about UFO's it may sound like fiction now, but at that time i was totally into UFO's and used to read a lot of science fiction novels! He said " No I havent Seen one" and smiled! i asked his autograph , he asked my name, he didnt understand my accent So he wrote "SRIKANET" instead of SRIKANTH. That was one of the cheering moments of my life!

Wanna look at celestial bodies! Better aim at them!!!!

If you go out at night and watch the horizon, your mind is veiled with thoughts and mysteries about the stars, galaxies, universe, Well dont supress that thought and get depressed, there is a better way to explore the universe. MEADE Instruments have developed unique product wherein you just have to point the star or any celestial object you want to look at and just shoot!!! yes exactly point and shoot. Just aim the gun shaped handset at the celestial body of your choice and pull the trigger. Using GPS and accelerometers to determine what you are looking at, the mySpy(product name) pulls the information out of a 30,000 object database (upgradeable via SD card). The mySky then delivers video, audio descriptions and "Fun Facts". There is a guided tour mode, pointing you at galaxies and stars of interest.

This is obviously going to be best for kids, but I can see some use in it for regular astronomers, if just for identification.

You can find more information here Meade.

Make your own movie! (Capture, Edit, burn it onto a dvd)

Video Editing isnt a easy job for an amature, who doesnt know much about the video editing softwares available on the WEB. This sunday I was trying to convert all my mini dv tapes into dvd's , At first I need to find a way to connect it to PC and then stream/capture it on to my hard disk and then get a software for editing the video, then burn it onto a dvd in DVD format i.e(*.vob).

I started of with connecting the sony handycam(hc36e) to my pc through USB, and i started a software given by the manufacturer and i clicked on capture, it started capturing..... I wanted check if it had captured the video correctly or not so i stopped it and played thecaptured video, Ghosh!!! I had a serious problem with audio to video synchronization. The problem was with the speed, mean the usb! so i used a IEEE 1394 fireward card and captured the video using Ulead video studio v8.0 pro, You folks can try out in torrents or rapidshare to download the softwares!, and one more important thing "the video captured will be in DV format(raw video) so you need to have sufficient amount of diskspace(if you are capturing 1 hr video then you need to have approx 15gb hdd space)".

So people dont use usb, use firewire card its really good to convert them onto dvd's. Then I used windows movie maker(updated==latest) and created clips, I created titles and subtitles with animation and saved it as WMV with the same size and fps(frames per second). Well your dvd player recognizes *.vob files not *.wmv files so I used a video converter known as Yash Video converter v3.2 (search in torrents) and converted my *.wmv file to *.vob.

Woah! I played it on my DVD player and its just awesome! No loss of clarity, quality, quantity. It is same as the cassette tape! with animated titles, subtitles and images.... Well you can also use Pinnacle Studio mp20, or MV45(monarch vision) for capturing, editing and creating dvd's!

My sincere advice, please dont use USB! USE firewire card instead, for capturing, it is going help a lot!

cheers

Save 750 megawatt hour a year using BLACKLE=GOOGLE!!

A few months ago, TreeHugger Mark Ontkush wrote a post on his blog EcoIron titled 'Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year'. The post lays out the following train of thought. "An all white web page uses about 74watts to display, while an all black page uses only 59 watts."
Google, which has a white background and gets about "200 million queries a day" could reduce global energy use by 750 Megawatt-hours a year by simply changing the color of its homepage to black.
In response to this factor A black version of Google emerged called BLACKLE. According to Blackle's homepage at publication time, 4,408.917 Watt hours have been saved .
The site encourages users to "make a difference today by ... Blackling "energy saving tips" or visiting TREEHUGGER, a great blog dedicated to environmental awareness." Nice ideas. But how does the search measure up? Very well indeed. Give it a whirl yourself and start saving energy one search at a time.

Nano Pacemakers! Application of Nano Technology!

If you think of technology from the beginning to this day, It aheads towards miniaturization, We want everything, every work to be done within our palms! There is no more Moore's Law, Its Nanotechnology.

One fine sunny day, I, my three friends(phaneendra, Varun, Kunal) thought to do research and publish a research paper on Nanotechnology. But we didnt knew how transistor were fabricated on a processor at present , I mean in micro world. Well when i was in 12th I had read an article on Times of India(newspaper) about "sood effect" and also it mentioned a book on nanotechnology " Nano- The next Revolution --by Mohan Sundara Rajan". The first thing i did was saving money for this book. I use to ask my mom money for eating outside(hangout) and i use to save them for this book. Then finally i had money, I went to sapna book house in jayanagar and bought it, I read the book that night and finished it, Thats an awesome book for beginners ! I mean if you want to know what nanotechnology is then thats a good book for you.

We all four thought of meeting in cafe coffeeday in jayanagar 4th block and do research!!! This may sound crazy! but we didnt have any place else! All were telling us to focus on scoring and getting good marks... we didnt believe in academics! So where ever we use to go people use to spy on us and irritate us! it was frustrating! So Cafe Coffeeday was a good place for us. So we got our laptop's in and accessed wifi and started our research we googled for a lot of things.

Suddenly I thought of an article on newspaper! It was on PACEMAKERS. So i thought of applying nanotechnology to PACEMAKERS. Well at sudden we all went blank. I thought for a few seconds and deep in my memory lane was this book "Nano - the next Revolution", I had read about SOOD EFFECT. So what exactly is Sood Effect??? When you pass liquid through a nanosensor or nanotubes electricity is produced! This was shown and demonstrated by IISC Scientists.

Here is a small snapshot of the article in that newspaper long ago!!!

Well our idea is to use this Sood Effect to Pacemakers. There is one problem in Pacemakers, its the battery! so instead of replacing the battery using blood as a liquid, electricity can be produced which makes pacemaker working and run smoothely for years without any replacement or change of battery. So actually We published this paper in our college! The title for this research paper is "Novel Approach to futuristic Pacemakers" This was given by our director, He helped us a lot with respect to grammer and writing stuff!

Thanks a Lot Sir!

But atlast here in india no one recognizes your ideas and innovation , they need marks and good academic results! this is what bothers us a lot. Even if we can innovate and have the thirst and dedication towards research or inventing something! No one thinks about us ! its okay its a challenge for us ! We have opened our own group http://einstasoft.brinkster.net

Well People read "Nano-- the next revolution-- by mohan sundara rajan" I hope you will get an innovative idea to change the world and help people through Technology!

Management is nothing more than motivating other people------ " Lee iacocca"

Well How can a human be a phoenix or even has the power of phoenix?(Rising from ashes!!!!). You got to ask Lee Iacocca for the answer.

Lee Iacocca spent 38 years in automobile industry, He worked as a employee in FORD for 30 years and then he became the president of FORD for another 8 years. But suddenly his fate told him " Wait we are not finished with you, now you are going to find out what it feels like to get kicked off Mt. Everest". So he was fired from FORD on july 13 1978.

It was like he was on the top of the world suddenly he was at the nadir looking for hope!!! He didnt lose his hope. It was burning inside him, through out his blood. It didnt end there! It was a beginning of his new ERA. Well he took presidency of chrysler group( A automobile company). At that time Chrysler was going bankrupt. He made chrysler one of the top companies in the world! if you want to know how he made all this..............................

This was just a prologue!

Read his autobiography its very inspiring!

Stop goofing around & start to Work!!!

According to a new study reported by Reuters, two out of three British Internet users lose "significant portions" of their time goofing off on the Web.

The study identifies an awkwardly named behavior, "wilfing," short for "What Was I Looking For?" This occurs when Web browsers get distracted by the vast amounts of information on the Web and end up aimlessly consuming page after page, forgetting the original (and presumably productive) reason why they opened up their browser in the first place. Web surfers lose two working days a month to aimless browsing, according to the study.

Finally Finally "TECHNLOGICAL GOD" has given a monitor for me!!!

ALL I had was a A CPU and input device like a key board and a mouse.......but i didnt have a monitor .........So I was researching on USING TV AS A MONITOR......i was studying the VGA port and the output and input from VGA port........This is ALL FOR EXPERIMENTING ............I mean for developing my own OPERATING SYSTEM, I would everyday getup from my bed and see the CPU, keyboard, mouse and cry cry literally cry.................. But a sudden miracle happened ........there was small get together in our house last weekend.............we cousins have a small group where we speak about technology ..............So they came to my dorm room and saw this device without a output device ............their face suddenly turned pale!!! One guy named SRINIDHI (he works for a software company) told me that he had a monitor sitting alone in his garage! Well i jumped with JOY..........................then i went to his house that night and got the monitor and still we are working on operating systems and device drivers and all about NAtural User Interface!!! check out www.einstasoft.selfip.com or www.einstasoft.blogspot.com.......

Thanks again SRINIDHI!

Google Phone vs IPHONE!!!

So google is climbing up the ladder fast to show their innovation and technology through their new product know as Google Phone which is yet to be released, Google is in talks with orange "about a multi-billion-dollar partnership to create a 'Google phone' which makes it easy to search the web wherever you are". A Google-branded phone could include a browser that uses Google's transcoder to optimize web pages for the phone, easy to access Google search, maps, Gmail, Blogger and maybe more."The device would not be revolutionary: manufactured by HTC, a Taiwanese firm specializing in smart phones and Personal Data Assistants (PDAs), it might have a screen similar to a video iPod."Last month, Eric Schmidt said: "While a Google Phone is just a rumor for the moment, you can't deny it's an interesting idea.

Port forwarding

Worried about low download speeds in torrent clients....The best thing to improve your download speed is to forward you ports in your modem config. Well type 192.168.1.1 in your browser, it takes you to modem config , in this page you will see your modem model number, connection type and all details of your modem, if you have smaratx mt882 modem, goto virtual server settings type your torrent client name in the name field, and your ip, and ports....now you got to type ports which are not in this range i.e 6881 ~ 6889 . protocol type is both(it depends on the client), in the schedule field check on ALWAYS. then click apply....thats it its all done now.....now you must be getting higher download speeds.....enjoy!!!.

Based on your modem config these steps may change so visit www.portforward.com

Electronica!!

WOW it Looks like a CD!!!

Well when my dad bought a computer when i was in middle school....i was very fond and fascinated by this device ..............the first thing i did was play games....more games......well at that time the comp's config was too bad pentium 1, 32mb ram, and then no video card thats it... I was always curious about the CPU or the cabinet where motherbaord and all the components are present....so one fine day i opened the Cabinet.........i was totally blank i didnt understand anything what was there inside the cabinet .........and then gradually i asked my cousins who were studying computer science.....they told me not to open it again......but i became even more curious when i knew what was motherboard , what was harddisk.......well first thing i did was removed the hard disk............from the cabinet....and then i slowly opened the harddsk outer part.....well thats the picture what you are looking at the old hard disk which i had spoiled......well when i opened it i said "WOW it Looks like a CD!!! and then i fixed it back ..and finally when i switched on the computer......................everything gone my DAd's files had gone everything even my games.....music.....................Everything....................oh that was the first time i thought to never play with computer components...............After 4 years i.e when i was in first PUC ....i assembled a computer.

FM Transmitter:

Well this is one of my first projects which i did it when i was in high school.......its just a FMreceiver and transmitter. Well it took 3 days to complete it......because it was my first project and i wasnt familiar with all the components..........well it worked and then first thing i did was i broadcastd my voice...........it was a total fun for me .....and then i used it as an wireless headset.....for listening to audio while watching movies...............it was awesome at that time.......
Actually i first did this on a breadboard and then to PCB.
Regulator or 4v battery charger:

Ok well after a long break i built this regulator .....i had a torch which had a battery of capacity 4.2v ......it was rechargeable... i meddled with the torch finally i couldnt assemble it back so i removed the battery and i wanted to manually charge it.... i mean having my own circuit to charge this battery, so i built this one, it just gives 5v dc output...and it takes approx 10hr to charge this battery.......it was an awesome experience with this project as i got to know how to rectify the A.C input.......and also the FILTER part.......still i use this to charge that battery.

This is my ELECTRONIC WORKBENCH
